Our award-winning story
Getting recognition for your work is truly an honour. In 2013, the Center for Plain Language in Washington, DC recognized us with two plain language awards. What a thrill! The ClearMark Awards, held at the National Press Club, celebrate the best in clear communication from government, non-profits and private companies in the U.S. and internationally.
The first award was a Category Winner for Before and After (Revised Documents). “Why Community-Based Crime Prevention Works: Case Studies of Three Ottawa Communities” was a project we completed for Crime Prevention Ottawa. In the words of the judges, it was:
“Brilliant. Visually engaging. Effective document design.”
“Major transformation from the original.”
The second award was an Award of Distinction in the Web category for the Neighbourhood Toolkit. This online crime prevention resource also received glowing reviews from the judges:
“This site is clearly the result of extensive collaboration and input from the groups and people it is for.”
“This is a consistently well written site. It provides practical, useful information for residents. A good example of best practice web writing in action.”
We look forward to teaching you our award-winning skills. We consider that a privilege too.
